The air was thick and humid. Purple and red clashed vibrantly as the sun set. It was a hot clammy late summer evening and Arianna was bored. Bored was a bit of an understatement but, it was the only word she could bring her mind to think of. She'd read most of her new books and decided to call the reading quits when her eyes began to sting.
A heavy sigh rolled from her lips as she gently shoved herself forward on the swing. The motion caused a soft breeze to flow over her warm skin. It was nice to have a little bit of relief from the blazing temperatures. "Soon..." She murmured. Soon the suns heat would be completely gone and night would set in. The heat of the day would disappear and she was sure it would be a crisp cool night.
Arianna felt a smile tug at her lips. A nice crisp night would suit her perfectly. She'd been feeling a little rambunctious the last few nights. An urge to run amuck had stricken her like a bad bug. She thought about it in her sleep, it disturbed her reading and plagued her mind as she ate. There was an urge to just run and never look back. She longed to feel the wind whip through her hair. The way it would slap her locks against her cheeks and make her clothes cling to her.
Another sigh left her lips. She missed running; she missed jumping around like some playful pup. A frown formed as she thought about it, about home... About her sister... Her brother. She missed them terribly. Suddenly a dull ache filled her chest as she thought about them. She wondered what they were doing and if they thought of her.
Her mind wandered back. She shoved her body forward once more, lost in her own world. Maybe she’d run until her legs quite. Silently Arianna wondered how far she could go, how far her body would allow. Surely she’d get farther than any human could. “Hmm…” She lost herself as she slowly swung back and forth, pushed by the gentle breeze that began to form.
